This policy explains what information is processed on mikkonurminen.io, why it is processed, and how you can manage your choices.

1. Controller and contact

The controller is Mikko Nurminen, Business ID 3621810-8. For privacy matters, contact mikko@mikkonurminen.io.

No data protection officer has been appointed for this website.

2. Information processed

  • Contact enquiries: your name, contact details, and information you provide when emailing or opening a WhatsApp conversation.
  • Technical use: logs necessary for security and operation, such as IP address, browser, and request information.
  • Optional analytics: Google Analytics 4 processes cookie and usage data only after you accept analytics. This can include page views, page use, device and browser data, and approximate location.
  • Cookieless analytics: Vercel Analytics provides aggregate visitor statistics. It does not use cookies or attempt to identify visitors or track them across websites.

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Responding to an enquiry and preparing a potential engagement (steps before entering into a contract).
  • Keeping the site secure and operational and preventing misuse (legitimate interest).
  • Understanding site use with Google Analytics only with your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer.

4. Cookies and your choices

Google Analytics cookies are not set and Google Analytics is not loaded before explicit consent. Accepting analytics is optional, and declining is as easy as accepting.

We store a necessary browser setting called mn-cookie-consent solely to remember your analytics choice. It expires after six months, or earlier if you clear browser data or change the choice.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the footer. Withdrawal prevents future Google Analytics loading; it does not erase data already sent to Google before withdrawal.

5. Recipients and transfers

The site is hosted on Vercel. After consent, Google Analytics processes analytics data as a Google service. If you open WhatsApp, LinkedIn, or another external link, that service processes your data under its own terms and privacy policy.

Service providers may process information outside the EU/EEA. Where needed, transfers rely on an appropriate transfer mechanism, such as European Commission standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

6. Retention

  • Contact information is kept for no more than 24 months after the latest contact, unless a longer period is needed for a contract, accounting, or another legal obligation.
  • Technical logs are retained only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.
  • Google Analytics data is retained according to the Google Analytics settings, for no more than 14 months.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal data. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interest. Consent-based analytics can be withdrawn at any time.

8. Changes

This policy is updated if the site's services or processing change materially. A material change to cookie use will require a new choice.
